7 Reasons Why You Should Visit Cavinti Laguna

          Boredom strikes! My vacation isn’t as beautiful as my facebook friends’ vacation. I’ve never been into resorts nor beaches, it’s just house, house and oh! Did I just say house is my only vacation place this year? But then an activity came out, and since I was bored, I took the chance to be part of it to have at least one meaningful vacation this summer. And it turns out great actually! Aside from further knowledge that this activity had given us, they let us explore our very own land, Cavinti Laguna, and enjoy it well.

          Let me give you 7 Reasons Why You Should Visit Cavinti Laguna this summer according to what I’ve experience in joining the Philippine Blogging Network in their activity at Cavinti and I’m sure, you’ll surely love this place that is full of adventures and excitement.

7. LOCATION: Cavinti Laguna is situated in Sierra Madre mountain ranges. Ranging about three to four hours of travel from Manila (in no heavy traffic) through land transportation. Meaning to say, this place isn’t as far as what people think about how long they will travel to visit the beauty of the town. You’ll also feel the common provincial atmosphere yet unique scent of excitement brought by this place. It is also a perfect location for bakasyonista who wants to have a vacation in a cool summer weather, since this place is located within and around mountain range.

6. INFRASTRACTURES: Historical buildings were most likely needed to maintain its beauty and strong foundation to keep the memories of our ancestral. The Transfiguration Church of Our Lord Parish Church is one of those historical infrastructures here at Cavinti. Its patron is El Salvador Del Mundo and was founded on 1619. Legend story says that the image of El Salvador was founded where the church stands that’s why it became their patron. Religious people/visitors more often visit the Church to offer prayers to the Patron. Another man made place where most of the tourists visit here in Cavinti is the Japanese Garden. It is a memorial park built in 1970’s to commemorate the death of Japanese soldiers during Second World War. It suddenly became a park for picnics, resting area, event holder and pictorials.

5. RESORTS: The cool breeze yet warming atmosphere in most of the resorts here in Cavinti Laguna is one of the best asset of the town’s resort businesses. One of which is the Caliraya Mountain Lake Resort where tourists and visitors can enjoy the breath-taking view of the lake, cool summer weather and different kinds of outdoor activities. Mountain lake resort, also, offers high class equipments and venues such as veranda, Pro shop and bar, locker rooms, showers, landscape Jacuzzi, massage areas and many others.  There were also some resorts in Cavinti other than Caliraya Mountain Lake Resort, these are; Porta Verde, Lagos Del Sol Resort Hotel, Lago Fishing Village Resort, Caliraya Springs Golf and Marina Resort Complex, Soloviento, CaliRana, Garden of Gen etc. where you can spend your whole day/ night to relax and feel the breeze of cool air.  

4. RIVERS: There’s happened to be a lot of river here in the Philippines that were being destroyed or worse, abandoned. In Cavinti, however, rivers were always under the care of Cavinti Tourism Personnel as one of the asset of the town. The famous Bumbungan Eco Park at Brgy. Tibatib brought thousands of visitors in Cavinti every year, especially during Summer Season/Vacation period. It was dammed at the section where top of the spillway has wet bridge, since the river overflows through the bridge, on the old Lumban-Caliraya-Cavinti Road. Bumbungan  is a common place for picnics, swimming, outing, reunions and also for relaxation. The cold breeze and cold water that comes from Cavinti falls (also known as Pagsanjan Falls) and flows to this river are a perfect combination that visitors love to experience.

3. ISLAND HOPPING: One of my favourite part of the Blogging Activity (where I joined in) is the island hopping. We go along the shore of Lumot Lake where we saw small islands that are perfect for picture taking, some islands were resided by my fellow community-people. We’ve also saw couples of fish ponds in the lake where fishermen get their incomes. The Lumot Lake is a man-made lake at Cavinti Laguna which surrounded by Brgy. Mahipon, Inao Awan, Bukal, Cansuso and Paowin.  It is also the venue for Cavinti Water Sports Festival. (See Cavinti Page for more info about Water Sports Festival) The breath-taking view of nature dancing in the harmonious sound of the wind and the waves is the perfect scenario that I can describe while having my trip in the Lumot Lake.

2. CAVINTI FALLS: Falls are one of the best water features that people loves to see and Cavinti proudly promotes its natural falls, the Cavinti Falls (also known as Pagsanjan Falls, indigenously called as Magdapio Falls). It is one of the most famous waterfalls in the Philippines and a major attraction of the province of Laguna. You need to hike a few meters from Pueblo El Salvador and go down through the 90° ladder or being hunged on a rope to go down. All the efforts that you’ve given in a tiring walk are much worth it when you see the falls itself. Facing the Magdapio falls makes me so speechless because of the sound of flowing water and the breeze it brings. Aside from Cavinti falls, there were other falls that the town promotes, namely; Nakulo falls, Bayakan falls, Bumbungan Twin falls, Talon ng Caliraya, and Ninja falls.

1. WATER ACTIVITY: Cavinti is very much well-known for its town surrounded by different kinds of wonderful water forms. But this place becomes more meaningful when we put something extreme and fun, some kind of water activity. We can do different methods of fishing (biwas, underwater, airgun), swimming (ofcourse!), water jet skiing, island hopping, stand up paddling, and many other activities. To promote water activities and eco tourism of Cavinti, they organized a festival, Cavinti Water Sports Festival that was held at Lumot Lake on summer season. It was consist of different kinds of water sports activity and other related activities which can also be held in the shoreline of the said lake.

          These are just a glimpse of the wonders of Cavinti. The Blogging Activity is a day activity, yet, it shows us lots of wonderful things about our town. I realized that Cavinti is truly an exceptional and a blessed town from its people to foods up to its tourist destinations that we must maintained to be well-cared. You?
